Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

how they navigate conflict within a care team without damaging collaboration

Technical

Walk me through a typical patient visit in an OB/GYN clinic, from rooming to when the provider steps in.

whether the candidate actually understands OB/GYN workflow versus general clinic flow

What vital signs and history do you make sure to collect for a prenatal visit versus a routine gyn visit?

Tell me about your experience with specimen collection and point-of-care testing, like pap smears, wet preps, or urine hCG tests.

hands-on familiarity with the specific lab work this specialty requires

How do you document in the electronic health record during a busy day without falling behind or making errors?

practical EHR discipline and time management under patient load

What's your experience level with sliding transfers or assisting patients who need physical help getting on and off the exam table?

confidence with the physical demands listed in the posting

Where are you at with your BLS certification, and are you comfortable getting it within 45 days if you don't already have it?

straightforward compliance readiness for a hard licensure requirement

Situational

This role floats between our Franklin and West Allis clinics and covers other providers, not just Dr. Howse. How do you feel about that kind of schedule, and have you worked in a float role before?

realistic willingness and past success adapting to inconsistent locations and teams

A patient tells you something personal or upsetting, like a difficult pregnancy result or a sensitive gynecological concern, right after you room her. What do you do before the provider comes in?

emotional composure and appropriate boundaries with sensitive women's health topics

You're covering for a provider you don't usually work with and their preferences for room setup or workflow are different from what you're used to. How do you adjust quickly?

flexibility and ability to learn multiple providers' styles without disrupting care

If you noticed the schedule was running significantly behind and patients were getting frustrated in the waiting room, what would you do?

initiative and communication skills in managing patient flow, not just clinical tasks
