Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Walk me through a time you had to warm up a cold lead who had no interest in talking to you at first.

whether they have a real method for building rapport rather than just pushing through rejection

How do you keep yourself motivated when you're making call after call and most of them go nowhere?

resilience and self-management in a high-volume, high-rejection role

Tell me about a time you had to organize a large number of tasks or leads and something almost slipped through the cracks. What did you do?

whether their time and task management claims hold up under a concrete example

Tell me about a time you worked closely with a more experienced colleague to get something across the finish line.

ability to collaborate with senior sales reps rather than working in isolation

What do you know about Motorola Solutions and the kind of customers we serve?

genuine interest in the mission versus a generic sales job application

Tell me about a time you didn't hit a goal or quota. What did you change afterward?

accountability and whether setbacks translate into adjusted behavior

Technical

What questions would you ask a prospect from, say, a police department or a hospital to figure out if they actually need one of our safety products?

ability to ask discovery questions suited to different buyer types, since the job spans multiple customer profiles

How do you decide what to log in a CRM after a call, and why does that matter to the seller you're supporting?

understanding that SDR work feeds a larger sales process and clean data matters

How would you explain the value of an end-to-end safety product suite to someone who's only ever bought one piece of equipment at a time?

ability to articulate a value proposition clearly to a non-technical buyer

Situational

Say you're given a list of government agency contacts to call this week using our dialer. Walk me through how you'd plan your day.

practical grasp of running structured call cadences at volume, not just enthusiasm

A prospect answers but says they're not interested and starts to hang up. What do you say next?

quick thinking and ability to salvage a call without sounding scripted or pushy

How would you go about re-engaging a lead who talked to us a year ago and then went cold?

understanding of lead nurturing and whether they can tailor a message rather than repeat the same pitch

If you were selling to a public safety agency, how would your approach differ from selling to a private business?

awareness that government sales cycles and stakeholders differ from commercial ones
