Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Tell me about a time you ran an attack simulation and the results were politically sensitive, maybe pointing at a team's own systems. How did you handle presenting that?

tact and stakeholder management when findings threaten to embarrass another team

Give me an example of a time you had to explain a technical security finding to an executive who had no security background. How did you adjust the message?

executive communication skill, which the posting flags as a preferred requirement

Tell me about a time you partnered with security architects or engineers on a testing plan and the collaboration didn't go smoothly at first. What changed?

cross-functional collaboration skills with technical peers, not just soft skills in the abstract

Tell me about a time your simulation results actually changed enterprise security strategy or got budget or attention for a fix. What made that happen?

evidence of real influence and measurable impact, not just running tests

Technical

Walk me through how you'd design a breach and attack simulation program from scratch for a global company like this one, with operations in nearly every country. What would you prioritize first?

whether the candidate can structure a program rather than just run individual tools or tests

What's the difference in how you'd approach vulnerability management versus threat hunting versus offensive security, and where have you actually worked hands-on in at least two of those areas?

depth versus breadth in the two required specialty areas listed in the posting

Describe how you'd build a repeatable process to take a pile of raw findings from a simulation and turn them into a prioritized, risk-based list a non-technical exec would understand.

ability to translate technical noise into an actionable, business-ranked output

Tell me about a BAS or similar security testing platform you've managed. What did you do to keep it useful over time instead of letting it become shelfware?

real hands-on tool ownership versus surface familiarity

What non-destructive techniques do you use to emulate a real adversary without risking outages or disruption to production systems?

practical judgment about safely testing a live global environment

Situational

Say you find a critical vulnerability during a simulation but the business owner says fixing it will delay a major product launch. What do you do?

how they balance risk communication against business pressure without simply deferring or overriding

How would you evaluate a brand-new technology platform being introduced into the company before it's fully rolled out?

whether they can build a proactive assessment process rather than only reacting after deployment

How do you decide what to keep confidential about testing activities and vulnerabilities, and who gets access to that information?

understanding of information handling discipline given the sensitivity of offensive security data

You're working with virtual team members across different time zones and cultures on a global testing cadence. How do you keep everyone aligned and moving?

remote and cross-cultural team management given the global, distributed nature of the role
