About your past

Tell me about how you've built engineering culture in a large organization. What specifically changed because of what you did?

Tell me about a time you had to recruit and retain strong engineers in a competitive market.

What they are checking: Whether they understand what keeps good engineers, like growth, ownership and good leaders, beyond pay.

What would you do

Architecture wants a long-term platform redesign, and Product wants new features now. How do you resolve that?

How do you handle a manager on your team whose org keeps missing commitments?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose whether the problem is planning, skill or overload, and act decisively when needed.

What would you want to understand in your first 60 days before shaping engineering strategy here?

What they are checking: Whether they learn the products, people and debt before setting direction, instead of importing a past playbook.

About the work

You'd lead engineering for the enterprise platforms behind our healthcare technology products. How do you decide what belongs in a shared platform versus with each product team?

What they are checking: Whether they can draw platform boundaries that speed up product teams instead of becoming a bottleneck.

How do you build security into cloud-native platforms that handle healthcare data?

What they are checking: Whether they treat security and compliance as part of the design and pipeline, partnering with Security instead of handing off.

What engineering metrics do you use to know whether the organization is healthy and delivering?

What they are checking: Whether they use delivery and reliability measures thoughtfully, without turning them into targets that get gamed.

How would you approach scalability for platforms that many product teams depend on at once?

What they are checking: Whether they think about multi-tenant load, reliability standards and clear service ownership at enterprise scale.
