Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a site audit you did. What issues did you find and what changed afterward?

What they are checking: Whether they spot problems on product and category pages and follow through until they are fixed.

Tell me about a time an update you published went wrong. How did you find it and fix it?

What they are checking: Whether they own mistakes, fix them quickly and add checks so the same error does not repeat.

How do you keep track of requests across teams so nothing falls through the cracks?

What they are checking: Whether they use tickets and tracking tools in an organized way that others can rely on.

What would you do

A promotion is scheduled to launch at midnight. How do you make sure the pricing and placement are right on every device?

What they are checking: Whether they have a careful QA routine, since a wrong price in public costs money and trust fast.

You have ten tickets from five teams, all marked urgent. How do you decide what goes first?

What they are checking: Whether they prioritize by customer and business impact and communicate clearly with the teams waiting.

A campaign request comes in two days before launch with missing assets. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they push back politely on unrealistic requests and find a workable path instead of rushing errors live.

About the work

Walk me through how you set up a new product on an ecommerce site, from product setup to badging and navigation.

What they are checking: Whether they know the hands-on steps of merchandising in a CMS or commerce platform, not just the strategy.

Which CMS and commerce platforms have you managed on the back end, and what admin work did you own?

What they are checking: Whether their platform experience is real enough to run day-to-day operations without constant help.

What is your QA checklist before you push a site update live?

What they are checking: Whether they test links, pricing, mobile layout and user flows in a consistent way rather than by memory.

How would you use analytics to decide which pages or flows need attention first?

What they are checking: Whether they connect site data to optimization work rather than fixing things based on opinion.
