Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Tell me about a time you had to fix a broken bi-directional sync between two systems, like HubSpot and Salesforce. What was going wrong and how did you find the root cause?

real hands-on debugging experience with data sync issues versus theoretical knowledge

Tell me about a time sales leadership didn't trust or use a tool or workflow you built. How did you turn that around?

ability to be a credible advisor to sales, not just a backend technician

Tell me about a project where you automated something that used to be manual, like tagging accounts after an event. What broke along the way and how did you handle it?

experience building durable automation, not just one-time fixes

Tell me about a time you had to explain a complicated piece of MarTech infrastructure to a non-technical sales leader. How did you make it land?

communication skill translating technical complexity into business terms for a specific stakeholder audience

Technical

Walk me through how you would design a LeanData router graph to handle leads coming in from HubSpot, Cvent, and Salesforce at the same time.

whether the candidate actually understands routing logic and can architect it, not just describe LeanData at a surface level

How have you used ZoomInfo intent data in a real workflow, and what did you do to get sales reps to actually act on those signals instead of ignoring them?

whether they've operationalized intent data end to end, including the harder people-adoption piece

Describe your approach to auditing a legacy company's tech stack and data during an acquisition, before merging it into a parent Salesforce instance.

concrete M&A data integration experience, since this is a named high-stakes responsibility

What's your process for deduplicating and mapping data fields when merging two CRM databases that were built with completely different conventions?

technical rigor around data governance and field standardization

How would you design a system to automatically tag accounts and contacts in Salesforce after global events like webinars and tradeshows, so attribution reporting stays accurate?

ability to design scalable, always-on attribution tracking across many event types

What field mapping or attribution problems have you run into that made revenue reporting inaccurate, and how did you resolve them?

depth of hands-on data governance experience tied to revenue attribution

Situational

Say leads are getting duplicated or dropped somewhere between form submission and sales rep assignment. How would you go about diagnosing where in the pipeline it's breaking?

structured troubleshooting approach across a multi-system lead flow

Imagine you're told a newly acquired business unit has to be fully integrated into MSI's Salesforce instance in six weeks, with messy legacy data and no documentation. What's your plan?

how they prioritize and stay calm under compressed M&A timelines

If speed-to-lead metrics started slipping and Inside Sales was complaining leads sat too long before follow-up, what would you check first?

practical understanding of where routing bottlenecks typically occur and how to isolate them
