Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Walk me through a post-merger integration you managed end to end. What was the deal size and timeline, and what was your specific role versus the integration lead's?

whether the candidate has actually owned execution versus just participated in someone else's plan

Tell me about a time you had to hit a Day 1 readiness checklist under a compressed timeline, like nine to twelve months. What almost didn't make it and how did you handle it?

real exposure to tight PMI timelines and how they triage under pressure

Tell me about a time you had to get people who don't report to you, maybe regional field leads or engineering partners, to hit a deadline they weren't prioritizing. What did you actually do?

influence without authority in a matrixed structure, which is the core friction of this job

Tell me about a target company onboarding that touched Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance at the same time. How did you sequence it so nothing fell through the cracks?

experience coordinating onboarding across multiple functional processes simultaneously

Technical

Describe how you'd build a TSA exit tracker for an acquired company still relying on the seller for IT and logistics support. What are the milestones you'd watch most closely?

concrete familiarity with TSA structures and exit risk, not just the term

What project management tools have you used to run integration workstreams, and how did you set up dashboards so a status update could be pulled without a special meeting?

hands-on depth with tools like Smartsheet, Jira, or MS Project versus surface familiarity

Walk me through how you'd summarize a portfolio of five active integrations for an executive who has ten minutes. What goes in and what gets left out?

ability to distill complexity into a clean executive-level risk summary

What does critical-path scheduling actually look like on an integration project, and can you give an example of a dependency you had to renegotiate because an earlier task slipped?

whether they truly understand dependency mapping or just use the vocabulary

Situational

Say you're running three acquisitions at once and one target's legacy SKU and costing data is a mess. How do you approach mapping it into a standardized global data layer without stalling the other two deals?

ability to juggle multiple integration workstreams without losing execution detail

You discover a single point of failure in a target's supply chain, one supplier for a critical component with no backup. Walk me through how you'd document it, escalate it, and track mitigation.

rigor in risk identification and whether they escalate rather than quietly absorb risk

How do you run a synchronization meeting with functional GPOs, regional leads, and engineering partners so it produces decisions instead of just status readouts?

whether they can run cross-functional cadence efficiently rather than just attend meetings

Describe a moment when an integration plan you inherited from strategy or diligence turned out not to match operational reality once you started executing. What did you do?

judgment in translating a strategic roadmap into an executable plan when assumptions break

With 22 acquisitions since 2022 and more coming, how would you decide which of your assigned integrations gets your attention first in a given week?

prioritization instinct under a portfolio-management workload rather than a single-deal mindset

Key Responsibilities • Day-to-Day Portfolio Execution: Direct the daily tactical execution of a portfolio of integrations, tracking every milestone from post-signing planning to complete process finalization. • Playbook and Tool Deployment: Standardize the use of project management software, automated tracking tools, and crisis playbooks to ensure highly repeatable status visibility. • Functional Onboarding Coordination: Drive the onboarding of targets into core Supply Chain and Business Operations processes, including Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Repair, Distribution, Planning, Finance and IT . • Data and Hierarchy Mapping: Manage project workstreams dedicated to master data mapping, converting legacy target SKUs and costing data into our hyper-standardized global data layer. • Risk and Mitigation Tracking: Actively identify, document, and escalate single points of failure, supply bottlenecks, or process deviations within target organizations. • Cross-Functional Synchronization: Run ongoing synchronization meetings with regional field leads, engineering partners, and functional GPOs to maintain alignment. Key Skills, Capabilities & Attributes Based on the execution-oriented nature of this role and our aggressive integration timeline goals, the ideal candidate must possess the following: • Tactical Integration Execution: Proven capability to execute end-to-end post-merger integration lifecycles, specifically managing Day 1 readiness checklists, detailed 100-day roadmaps, and TSA exit tracking. • Project Management Mastery: Expert-level command of structured project management tools, critical-path scheduling, dependency mapping, and rigorous milestone tracking. • Results-Oriented Drive: A relentless focus on delivery timelines, closing data gaps, and aggressively driving accountability across active integration workstreams to drive full value realization of each deal. • Process and System Migration Rigor: Ability to systematically manage the migration of target functions into standardized processes and decoupled, ERP-agnostic cloud modules. • Cross-Functional Coordination: Strong relationship-building skills to maintain high velocity across matrixed project teams, including Supply Planning, Manufacturing, IT, HR, and Business Operations. • Executive Status Summarization: Capability to distill complex project data into clear, repeatable, and robust status updates and risk summaries for leadership review. Experience: • Proven experience directly managing project workstreams for complex corporate post-merger integrations (PMI), either internally or within a consulting capacity. • Demonstrated history of utilizing advanced project management methodologies to execute tight timelines (e.g., compressed 9–12 month schedules). • Practical experience working alongside operational supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or business operations environments is strongly preferred. Skills & Capabilities: • Documented expertise in professional project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project) and automated dashboard creation. • Superior organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple active acquisitions simultaneously without dropping execution details. • Solid communication and presentation skills, with a track record of driving task completion among stakeholders who do not report to you directly. • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable.
