Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a client engagement where you went from a fuzzy healthcare problem to a production solution. What did discovery look like?

What they are checking: Whether they can turn vague clinical or operational needs into a concrete technical plan while sitting with the client.

Tell me about reusable patterns or tooling you created on one engagement that sped up the next.

What they are checking: Whether they build reusable development practices, which the posting calls out as part of the role.

How do you lead engineers on a client project when you're also writing code yourself?

What they are checking: Balancing hands-on work with technical leadership so the team isn't blocked waiting on them.

How do you explain an architecture tradeoff to a hospital executive who isn't technical?

What they are checking: Translating technical choices into cost, risk and time terms that a client decision-maker can weigh.

What would you do

The client wants a feature that would break your data governance or security standards. What do you do?

What they are checking: Holding firm on standards in front of a client while finding another route to what they need.

A clinical leader keeps changing requirements midway through a build. How do you keep the project on track?

What they are checking: Managing scope with clients through short feedback loops rather than rigid change requests or endless rework.

What would you do if a solution you delivered worked in testing but users at the hospital stopped using it after a month?

What they are checking: Caring about adoption and real-world workflow fit, not just technical delivery.

About the work

How do you decide when a quick prototype is good enough to move toward production, and what has to change before it does?

What they are checking: Judgment about hardening experiments with testing, security and governance instead of shipping demo code.

Walk me through a solution architecture you designed that combined data pipelines, an application and an AI component.

What they are checking: Breadth across data, app and AI layers, which a forward deployed lead has to own end to end.

How do you handle protected health information when you are building quickly inside a client engagement?

What they are checking: Concrete habits around HIPAA, access control and de-identification under delivery pressure.
