About your past

Tell me about a solution you helped design that a client actually adopted. What made it stick?

How have you helped find follow-on work with a client you were already serving?

What would you do

A client says they need a new system, but you suspect the real problem is their process. How do you handle that conversation?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose before they prescribe, even when the client has already decided what they want.

Walk me through how you would scope a project when the client keeps adding wants in every meeting.

What they are checking: How they manage scope and expectations while keeping the relationship warm.

You are senior on the engagement and a junior consultant is struggling with a client. What do you do?

About the work

How do you explain a technical tradeoff to a business owner who does not care about the technology?

What they are checking: Whether they can translate choices into cost, time and risk a non-technical person can weigh.

What does good testing look like before a client goes live on a new solution?

What they are checking: Whether they plan for user acceptance testing and real data instead of hoping it works.

How do you keep track of hours and budget on a fixed-fee engagement?

What they are checking: Awareness that consulting profit depends on watching time closely, not just doing good work.
