What they are checking: Whether they can be a learner again after years of experience without becoming defensive.

How do you approach medication math and dosing safety for patients who weigh only a few pounds?
What they are checking: Whether they respect how small margins of error are in neonates and use double checks every time.
Describe how you would delegate tasks safely to other staff in a 10-bed single-room unit.
What they are checking: Whether they know what can and cannot be delegated under the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and still keep oversight.
How would you support a mother who wants to breastfeed a baby who is in the Special Care Nursery?
What they are checking: Whether they understand feeding support and family-centered care as part of neonatal nursing, not an afterthought.
