Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you worked with someone who kept changing what they wanted. How did you keep things moving?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage shifting hiring manager needs without losing patience or letting the opening stall.

Tell me about a time you juggled many small requests in a fast-paced office. How did you keep track?

What they are checking: Whether they have a real tracking system rather than relying on memory when volume is high.

What would you do

A hiring manager sends a requisition missing the compensation details. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they will hold a posting until it is complete and compliant rather than pushing it out to look fast.

A branch manager says their opening has been posted for weeks with no good applicants. How would you help?

What they are checking: Whether they can diagnose a slow requisition, such as wording, pay or where it was advertised, instead of just reposting.

If you were asked to help build a new recruiting program, what would you want to know first?

What they are checking: Whether they start from the hiring problem and how success is measured, not from a favorite tactic.

How would you write to a hiring manager to tell them their requested pay is below what the market seems to require?

What they are checking: Whether they can deliver an unwelcome message with facts and tact so the manager actually hears it.

About the work

Walk me through how you would review a job requisition before posting it.

What they are checking: Whether they check the details that create legal or practical problems, like pay ranges, qualifications and location.

What would you check to make sure a job posting is compliant with pay transparency and equal opportunity rules?

What they are checking: Whether they know that postings carry legal requirements that vary by state and cannot be treated as plain ads.

How do you keep dozens of open requisitions accurate in an HCM system so nothing sits open by mistake?

What they are checking: Whether they have a routine for cleaning up filled or stale requisitions so reports and postings stay trustworthy.

Where would you place a job ad for a delivery driver versus a staff accountant, and why?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that different candidate pools are found in different places and ads should match the audience.
