Job Description The Presale Systems Engineer partners closely with customers and the sales team, delivering customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government, and non first responder customers within the US Federal Government Civilian and Law Enforcement customer base. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presale Systems Engineer is the overall owner of a solution’s technical design, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs. The engineering team supports the entire ecosystem and concentrates on the following mission-critical technologies at various levels of complexity: • Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks • Advanced mobile devices • Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices • Integrated command and control software • Mobile and fixed video solutions Responsibilities: • Customer requirements discovery • Technology strategy development • End-to-end system architecture design • Proposal development • Internal and external technical presentations • Equipment and software solution demos, including configuration and testing Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required by government contract • Present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences and makes them understandable • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Experience with wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, FirstNet/Frontline) - highly desirable • Experience with Cloud (FedRAMP), IP networking architecture, protocols and security highly desirable • Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, microwave design, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an asset • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers. Location/Travel: • Ability to work in the Linthicum Heights, MD office a minimum of 3 days a week • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
