Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

You're the first person members see when they walk into the club. What does a great first thirty seconds look like when you're at the desk?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that the front desk sets the tone for the whole visit, not just checks people in.

Tell me about a time a customer came to you upset and you turned it around. What did you actually say?

What they are checking: Whether they can do real service recovery with calm words and a fix, rather than just apologizing and passing it on.

Part of this job is outbound calls to members and guests. How do you feel about making calls to people who didn't ask to hear from you?

What they are checking: Whether they are comfortable with outreach that supports sales and engagement, or will quietly avoid that part of the role.

Tell me about a time you had to multitask in a busy setting and something slipped. What did you change afterward?

What they are checking: Honest self-awareness about multitasking limits and whether they build systems to catch what they would otherwise drop.

This role has hospitality certification levels you work through on your own. What would motivate you to keep moving up?

What they are checking: Whether they will drive their own growth through self-directed progression rather than waiting to be told what to learn next.

What would you do

A member is at the desk disputing a charge on their account while three people are waiting behind them. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Juggling one hard account issue without leaving a line of members feeling ignored, which happens every busy evening.

A guest is touring the club and says the membership price is too high. What do you do next?

What they are checking: Whether they can talk about value and what fits the person instead of either caving or pushing too hard.

A member tells you they want to cancel. Walk me through how you'd handle that conversation.

What they are checking: Whether they can listen for the real reason and offer options while still respecting the member's decision and club policy.

You're processing a program payment and the system shows something that doesn't match what the member was told by another team member. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they protect accuracy and loop in the right person instead of guessing or blaming a coworker in front of a member.

About the work

How would you keep yourself up to date on club programming, events, pricing and policies so you can answer questions on the spot?

What they are checking: Whether they have a habit of learning the details, since wrong answers at the desk turn into billing complaints later.
