Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Walk me through a training program you built or ran from scratch. What was the goal, who did you have to pull in, and how did you know it worked?

whether they've actually owned end-to-end program execution versus just delivering content someone else built

Tell me about a time you had to get subject matter experts from engineering or product to actually deliver content or review materials on your timeline, when it wasn't really their job to prioritize you.

skill at influencing without authority across departments that don't report to them

Describe a training program that didn't work the way you expected. What signal told you it was failing, and what did you change?

self-awareness and willingness to iterate rather than defend a program that isn't landing

Tell me about a time you had to manage a training calendar or program with limited resources or a tight budget. What got cut, and how did you decide?

judgment under real operational constraints, not idealized program design

This job is up to 50 percent travel, including trade shows and hands-on demos where you might be lifting equipment. Tell me about a time you had to run training or support in a physically demanding or logistically messy environment.

realistic expectations about the physical and travel demands of the role

Technical

How would you design a skill matrix to track readiness gaps across a distributed sales team, and what would you actually do with the data once you had it?

whether they think about tracking systems as diagnostic tools rather than paperwork

What adult learning principles do you actually apply when building a module, and can you give an example of a design choice that came directly from one of those principles?

whether their instructional design knowledge is real or just a résumé keyword

How do you keep a training library or set of playbooks current when the underlying product or process is changing every few months?

whether they have a real maintenance process for content versus letting materials go stale

What experience do you have with government contractor environments or working with teams that have citizenship or clearance requirements tied to their work?

familiarity with the compliance context this role operates in, given the defense and public safety client base

Situational

Say you're handed a mandate to get a new cohort of U.S. sales hires to full readiness in 60 days, covering both technical product knowledge and CRM and business ops. How do you structure that curriculum, and how do you decide what comes first?

ability to sequence learning content logically and balance technical depth against operational basics

You've got sales reps in four different U.S. time zones who all need the same live training session. How do you handle that logistically?

practical operational planning skills for a distributed remote audience

A new hire finishes onboarding but is clearly still shaky in front of a customer during their first field engagement. What's your process for catching that and fixing it?

understanding of the post-onboarding mentoring phase described in the role, not just classroom training

If sales leadership and engineering disagree on how much technical depth new hires need before they're customer-facing, how do you resolve that and decide what actually goes in the curriculum?

ability to mediate competing stakeholder priorities and make a defensible content decision
