What they are checking: Whether they can use clinical knowledge to understand what care was actually given.

You'd need your CPC within a year. What's your plan to get there?

What they are checking: Whether they have a realistic plan to meet the certification requirement on time.

Tell me about a time you caught an error others missed. How did you handle it?

You find that a supply is being charged in the charge master but the documentation never supports it. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they know the limits of their role and when a question needs leadership input.

About the work

Walk me through how you'd assign the facility charge level for an emergency department visit.

What they are checking: Whether they understand that ED facility levels come from documented resources and interventions, not provider E/M rules.

Which modifiers come up most often on ED facility claims, and when would you use 25 or 59?

What they are checking: Whether they know common modifiers well enough to avoid denials and unbundling errors.

How would you build a simple metric to track your own charge accuracy and revenue capture?

What they are checking: Whether they think in measurable terms about quality, which the posting lists as a duty.
