Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This role covers both front and back office. Tell me about a time you were pulled between checking patients in and rooming them. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can move between clinical and administrative tasks while keeping the clinic flowing and patients informed.

Tell me about a time you made a mistake at work. What happened and what did you do?

What they are checking: Whether they own errors quickly and honestly, which matters most when the mistake could affect a child's care.

What does a great patient experience look like to you when the patient is a scared five-year-old?

What they are checking: Whether they genuinely enjoy working with kids and families, which shows in how they describe small acts of care.

What would you do

A parent is anxious and asking you a lot of medical questions before the provider comes in. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they reassure parents and gather useful information without stepping outside their scope by giving medical advice.

A parent refuses a vaccine the provider ordered. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they stay respectful, avoid arguing, and route the conversation and documentation to the provider correctly.

You notice bruising on a child that does not match the story the parent gives. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they know they are a mandated reporter and will tell the provider and follow policy rather than ignore it.

Where are you with your MA certification, and how do you keep your BLS current?

What they are checking: Whether they meet the credential requirements and treat them as part of the job rather than paperwork.

About the work

Walk me through how you get accurate vitals, height and weight on a toddler who does not want to cooperate.

What they are checking: Whether they have real pediatric technique and patience, since bad measurements on kids lead to wrong dosing and growth tracking.

How do you check a child's immunization record and prepare vaccines for a well-child visit?

What they are checking: Whether they know the vaccine schedule basics, verify the right vaccine and dose, and document it correctly.

How do you keep a scheduling template full while still leaving room for sick visits that call the same morning?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how pediatric schedules work and can balance planned visits with same-day needs.
