Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Walk me through a Lean Six Sigma project you led from define through control, and what the measurable result was.

What they are checking: Whether they have actually run a full DMAIC project and can tie it to real dollars or performance gains.

Tell me about a time you mentored a Green Belt whose project was stalling. What did you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can coach others to deliver results, since the role leads and mentors teams in the methodology.

Tell me about a project where the data pointed one way and an experienced leader insisted on another. How did it end?

What they are checking: Whether they can challenge senior people respectfully with evidence and still keep the relationship working.

Describe how you would teach a statistical concept like process capability to a group of shift supervisors.

What they are checking: Whether they can make technical ideas practical and usable for people who run the process every day.

What would you do

How do you build a culture of continuous improvement in a plant where operators see it as another corporate program?

What they are checking: Whether they earn buy-in from the floor through quick wins and listening, not by imposing tools from above.

You have more improvement requests than capacity. How do you pick what the team works on?

What they are checking: Whether they prioritize by business impact and strategy rather than by who asks loudest.

About the work

How do you decide whether a problem needs a full DMAIC project or a quick kaizen event?

What they are checking: Whether they match the tool to the problem instead of forcing heavy methodology on simple fixes.

In a corn wet milling plant, yield on a unit operation has dropped two percent. How would you approach it statistically?

What they are checking: Whether they can apply measurement system analysis, process mapping and hypothesis testing to a real process problem.

Explain how you would check whether a measurement system is reliable before trusting the data from it.

What they are checking: Whether they know gauge R&R and understand that bad measurement data can sink an entire improvement project.

How do you make sure gains from a project are still there a year later?

What they are checking: Whether they build control plans, standard work and ownership so improvements do not fade after the project closes.

How do you validate the financial savings a project claims so finance will sign off?

What they are checking: Whether they partner with finance on baselines and hard versus soft savings so results hold up to scrutiny.
