Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about an AI system you built that reached production. What was hardest about getting it there?

What they are checking: Whether they have shipped real systems rather than only prototypes.

Tell me about a time you explained a technical AI tradeoff to non-technical leaders.

What they are checking: Whether they can advise leadership in plain language, which the role explicitly expects.

Tell me about a time you had to scale a solution that worked for one team to many teams.

What they are checking: Whether they think about reuse and maintainability, not just one-off wins.

What would you do

You would help create AI training and playbooks. What would you put in a playbook for other engineers?

What they are checking: Whether they can spread good practice across teams rather than keeping knowledge to themselves.

A team wants to feed sensitive financial data into a third-party AI tool. What do you say?

What they are checking: Whether they protect data and push back with safer alternatives when needed.

About the work

A business leader says they want to use AI to improve route planning. How would you turn that into a real technical approach?

What they are checking: Whether they can translate business needs into a scoped problem and decide if AI is the right tool.

How do you decide between using a large language model, a classic machine learning model or plain rules?

What they are checking: Whether they choose the simplest approach that works instead of defaulting to the newest tool.

How would you make sure an AI system follows governance and privacy rules in a regulated gaming company?

What they are checking: Whether they build responsible AI practices into the design rather than adding them later.

How do you evaluate whether an AI feature is actually working once it is live?

What they are checking: Whether they define measurable success and monitor model quality over time.

How do you handle hallucinations or unreliable outputs in an AI feature people depend on?

What they are checking: Whether they design guardrails, validation and fallbacks for model errors.
