Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a Lean improvement you led in a healthcare or service setting. What changed and how did you measure it?

What they are checking: Real hands-on Lean experience with a baseline, a countermeasure and a measured result rather than vocabulary alone.

Tell me about a time an improvement effort failed or did not stick. What did you learn?

What they are checking: Honesty about sustainment, the hardest part of transformation work, and whether they reflect instead of blaming others.

You partner closely with the Director. How do you split the work and keep each other informed?

What they are checking: Whether they can be a reliable second in command who drives the program without overstepping or waiting to be told.

What would you do

You act as an internal consultant to every department. How do you get a skeptical department head to work with you?

What they are checking: Influence without authority, since this role has to earn its way into departments that did not ask for help.

How do you coach an interdisciplinary project team that is stuck or arguing about the root cause?

What they are checking: Facilitation skill that gets nurses, physicians and support staff back to the data instead of opinions.

How would you build problem-solving habits in frontline staff who already feel stretched thin?

What they are checking: Whether they can make improvement feel like relief rather than extra work, which decides if a system of improvement lasts.

This role is hybrid and onsite as business needs demand. How do you stay connected to frontline work when you are not in the building?

What they are checking: Recognition that improvement happens where the work is, and a plan to go see it rather than manage from a dashboard.

About the work

How would you set up a strategy deployment process that links our annual goals to what a frontline unit works on each week?

What they are checking: Whether they understand cascading goals and huddles well enough to make strategy show up in daily work, not just in slide decks.

What does a good A3 look like to you, and where do people usually get it wrong?

What they are checking: Depth with problem-solving tools and the ability to coach others away from jumping straight to solutions.

How would you decide which strategic initiatives get resources this year and which ones wait?

What they are checking: Prioritization judgment and comfort helping leaders say no, which keeps strategy deployment from becoming a list of everything.

How do you report progress to senior leaders so they see both wins and problems clearly?

What they are checking: Clear, honest reporting that surfaces red metrics early instead of hiding them until a deadline.
