Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Walk me through a time you had to build a board-ready narrative from messy, multi-source data. How did you decide what to leave out?

whether the candidate can distill complexity into an executive-grade story rather than dumping data

Tell me about a piece of executive communication you prepared for earnings or a board meeting that didn't land well the first time. What did you change?

self-awareness and ability to iterate under high-stakes scrutiny

Describe a time you had to align Corporate Strategy, Sustainability, and a business unit around one set of insights when they each wanted something different from the data.

cross-functional influence in a matrixed org without formal authority

Tell me about a team you built or inherited in an insights or intelligence function. What did you change about how they worked, and how did you know it was working?

people leadership track record and what quality bar they hold direct reports to

Describe a moment you had to change how an intelligence or insights team worked, and someone on the team resisted the new way of doing things. What did you do?

change management skill when driving adoption of new workflows or tools

What's an example of a macroeconomic or consumer shift you saw coming before it was obvious, and what did you do with that early read?

genuine forward-looking judgment versus reactive trend-reporting

Technical

How would you go about benchmarking Mondelez categories against the broader food industry in a way that actually changes a portfolio decision, not just fills a slide?

depth of category benchmarking methodology and commercial relevance, not just data literacy

Tell me about a time you used or built an AI-powered tool for competitive monitoring or trend synthesis. What worked and what didn't scale the way you expected?

genuine hands-on experience with AI intelligence tools versus buzzword familiarity

Which syndicated or intelligence platforms have you actually used — Euromonitor, GlobalData, Mintel, Nielsen — and where have you seen them give you a wrong or misleading signal?

real depth versus surface familiarity with the standard toolset

Situational

Imagine the SVP asks you Friday afternoon for a 'so what' on shifting consumer sentiment for Monday's OLT meeting. Walk me through how you'd spend that weekend.

prioritization and judgment under executive time pressure

What's your approach to separating the strategic narrative you own from the performance data and dashboards that I&A Operations owns, when the two inevitably tell overlapping stories?

understanding of the role's specific boundary and how they'd manage the handoff without turf conflict

If leadership pushed back and said your foresight narrative was 'too academic' and not commercially actionable, how would you rework it on the spot?

ability to translate insight into commercial relevance under real-time pushback

A cross-category initiative like mindful snacking needs strategic intelligence support but two BUs disagree on what the priority question even is. How do you get them to a shared brief?

facilitation skill and ability to create alignment before analysis even starts
