Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This team covers documentation management, site-wide training, internal and external audits and regulatory compliance. Which of those have you owned, and how?

What they are checking: Whether their compliance background maps to the real scope of this QA team, not just one narrow piece.

Tell me about a time you supported a client or FDA audit. What was your role in the room or the back room?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how to retrieve documents fast and accurately and keep the front room supported under pressure.

Tell me about a time you found a compliance gap that others had missed. How did you raise it?

What they are checking: Whether they speak up clearly and constructively about gaps instead of assuming someone else has noticed.

How do you keep up with changes in FDA guidance and other agency expectations?

What they are checking: Whether they actively track regulatory change rather than relying only on what the site already does.

What would you do

During an internal audit you find a logbook entry that looks like it was backdated. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they treat a possible data integrity issue seriously and follow process rather than accusing or ignoring it.

A department head keeps missing audit response deadlines. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can drive commitments from people senior to them with tracking, escalation and tact.

About the work

How would you plan and conduct an internal audit of a manufacturing area against 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211?

What they are checking: Whether they can scope an audit, gather objective evidence and write findings that hold up and lead to action.

How do you manage a document change through its lifecycle in an electronic document management system?

What they are checking: Whether they know review, approval, effective dates and training linkage so outdated procedures do not stay in use.

How do you make sure that when an SOP changes, the right people are trained before they perform the task?

What they are checking: Whether they connect document control and training records, a common gap auditors catch at growing sites.

How would you write an audit observation so that the area owner understands the risk and does not just argue the finding?

What they are checking: Whether they tie each finding to a requirement and a real risk, which makes good corrective action more likely.
