Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

You'll work from home and set your own schedule. How do you keep yourself on track without a manager nearby?

What they are checking: Whether they are truly self-starting, since this role has no one checking in hourly.

Tell me about a time you missed a monthly quota. What did you do the next month?

What they are checking: Whether they react to a miss with a plan and more activity rather than discouragement.

Tell me about a time a customer bought from you because of service after the sale.

What they are checking: Whether they see service as the base for future sales and referrals, as the posting describes.

What would you do

You get a lead from a marketing campaign, but the person sounds hesitant on the phone. How do you get the appointment?

What they are checking: Whether they can qualify and book a lead without pushing so hard that the family feels pressured.

You're giving a family a tour of the cemetery and mausoleum. What are you listening for?

What they are checking: Whether they use the tour to learn about values and needs, not just to show off property.

A family wants to think it over after your presentation. What do you do next?

What they are checking: Whether they follow up consistently and respectfully instead of disappearing or pressuring.

How do you feel about a pay plan where your income depends heavily on hitting your sales targets?

What they are checking: Whether they understand and are comfortable with quota-driven pay before they start.

About the work

Walk me through how you'd present the Dignity Memorial Personal Planning Guide to a couple in their kitchen.

What they are checking: Whether they can run a structured presentation while still listening and adjusting to the family's questions.

The posting mentions a soft close. What does that mean to you, and how is it different from a hard close?

What they are checking: Whether they can ask for the decision respectfully, which matters with families making emotional choices.

How do you build community relationships that turn into qualified leads?

What they are checking: Whether they know practical channels like churches, senior groups and civic clubs for building trust.
