Likely interview questions for this role
Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.
Behavioral
Walk me through why you want to start your career in a rotational program instead of picking one role right away.
whether the candidate understands and genuinely wants the breadth-over-depth tradeoff of a rotational program, not just a job with any offer
This program moves you through marketing, engineering, and sales in six months and then relocates you somewhere in the U.S. How do you feel about that kind of change, and can you tell me about a time you had to adjust quickly to a new environment?
real openness to relocation and fast context-switching versus a rehearsed answer
Tell me about a group project or team situation where things weren't going well. What did you do?
how the candidate handles friction on a team, since the program stresses that high performing teams drive results
Describe a time you had to break a complicated problem into smaller pieces to actually get through it.
the analytical, detail-oriented problem-solving called out directly in the accountabilities section
You'll be given a mentor and a buddy, plus feedback from managers across three different departments in one year. How do you typically respond to critical feedback?
coachability, which matters heavily in a mentor-driven rotational structure
Tell me about a time you had to present something to a group, especially if it didn't go the way you planned.
communication skills and composure, since mock customer presentations are part of the program
Tell me about a time you had to learn something technical fast, with no prior background in it, in order to do your job or a project well.
learning agility, since the program requires picking up engineering and product knowledge with zero industry experience assumed
Where do you see yourself five years after this program, in terms of what kind of sales role you want to grow into?
whether the ambition is specific and aligned with a long sales career at an industrial company, versus using the program as a generic stepping stone
Technical
What do you know about what Regal Rexnord actually makes, and can you explain in plain terms how one of our products might get used by a customer?
whether the candidate did real homework on an industrial manufacturer rather than treating this as a generic sales job
How comfortable are you with Excel and PowerPoint, and can you give an example of using one of them to make sense of information for someone else?
basic proficiency with the everyday tools the role explicitly lists, not advanced technical skill
Situational
Say you're six weeks into your inside sales assignment and a customer asks a technical product question you don't know the answer to. What do you do in that moment?
comfort admitting a knowledge gap and instinct to use available resources (mentor, engineering team) rather than guessing
If you had two project deadlines land in the same week, one from your engineering rotation and one from a sales shadowing assignment, how would you decide what gets your attention first?
prioritization and time management skills under competing demands
This role involves about 25 to 30 percent overnight travel, often shadowing a mentor to visit customers. What has your experience with regular travel been like, and how do you plan around it?
realistic expectations and logistical readiness for the travel demands, not just enthusiasm
