Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Sparta Urgent Care is new. Tell me about a time you helped start or shape a new team or process.

What they are checking: Whether they can handle the uncertainty of a new site and help build good routines.

This role is 0.6 FTE with every other weekend and may grow as the service line grows. How does that fit your plans?

Tell me about a time you noticed something small that turned out to be serious.

What they are checking: Whether they have the sharp judgment to catch serious problems that look minor at first.

What would you do

A patient comes in with symptoms that look like a heart attack. Walk me through what you'd do at Sparta Urgent Care.

What they are checking: Whether they can start care and arrange a safe transfer when a patient needs more than urgent care can give.

You'll work with APCs, other RNs and EMTs. How do you divide work so the team runs well?

What they are checking: Whether they can lead and share tasks in a small multidisciplinary team.

A parent is upset because their child's visit is taking too long. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can calm upset families while explaining delays honestly.

What they are checking: Whether they can explain care decisions clearly and support the provider's plan.

About the work

Urgent care sees everything from sore throats to chest pain. How do you decide which patient needs to be seen first?

What they are checking: Whether they can triage quickly and spot patients who need emergency care instead of urgent care.

What procedures are you comfortable with, like IV starts, wound care, splinting or giving medications?

What they are checking: Whether their hands-on skills fit the broad mix of patients urgent care sees.

How do you teach a patient about their discharge instructions so they actually understand them?

What they are checking: Whether they check understanding instead of just handing over papers.
