Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you worked alongside a more senior technician to solve a tough problem.

What they are checking: Whether they can learn from and support the on-site senior technician without being passive.

How do you document a repair so the next person understands what happened?

What they are checking: Whether they leave clear records, which matters on a shared, round-the-clock support team.

What would you do

You would support an AGV fleet in a hospital in Indianapolis. How is working in a hospital different from a factory floor?

What they are checking: Whether they understand patients, staff and infection control come first, and vehicles share space with people.

How do you plan preventive maintenance on a fleet that the hospital needs running nearly all the time?

What they are checking: Whether they can schedule work around operations so maintenance does not disrupt patient care deliveries.

The customer's AGV lead is frustrated that the same issue keeps happening. How do you handle that conversation?

What they are checking: Whether they can stay calm, explain clearly and own a plan for the root cause with the customer.

You get an on-call page late at night. How do you decide whether it can wait until morning?

What they are checking: Whether they can judge the impact on hospital operations rather than treating every call the same way.

About the work

An AGV stops in a busy hallway and will not move. Walk me through how you troubleshoot it.

What they are checking: Whether they work through safety, then system status, sensors, navigation and mechanical causes in a logical order.

What is your experience with automated guided vehicles or similar automated equipment?

What they are checking: Whether their background in batteries, drives, sensors and controls carries over to vehicle fleets.

You will help deploy, configure and test a new AGV environment. What would you check before the system goes live?

What they are checking: Whether they understand commissioning steps like route testing, safety checks and handoff to production.

How would you manage the on-site parts inventory so you never get caught without a critical part?

What they are checking: Whether they track usage and reorder points so a missing part does not leave vehicles down.
