Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a region or portfolio where you drove occupancy growth. What did you change, and what were the results?

What they are checking: Whether they can point to measurable occupancy and revenue gains they personally drove, not just oversaw.

Tell me about a time you had to replace a sales leader who wasn't performing. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can make hard people decisions fairly and quickly when results and the team depend on it.

How do you build a culture where community sales teams stay motivated through slow months?

What they are checking: Whether they can keep morale and activity steady when results lag, which drives long-cycle sales.

What would you do

You'll lead sales across seven or eight Life Plan Communities in several states. How do you figure out which communities need the most attention?

What they are checking: Whether they use data like lead flow, conversion and move-ins to target their time across a spread-out portfolio.

How do you coach a community sales director whose team has strong lead volume but low conversion to entrance fee deposits?

What they are checking: Whether they can diagnose where the sales process breaks and coach to the specific weak stage.

How do you partner with Operations when a community's product or service issues are hurting sales?

What they are checking: Whether they can work with operations leaders as partners instead of blaming them for lost sales.

A prospect's family worries about the entrance fee and the long-term financial commitment. How do you want your teams to handle that conversation?

What they are checking: Whether they promote honest, needs-based selling that builds trust rather than pressure tactics with older adults.

About the work

What does a strong sales process look like for independent living in a Life Plan Community, and how is it different from other sales?

What they are checking: Whether they understand long, emotional senior living sales cycles that often involve adult children and big financial decisions.

Which metrics do you review weekly, and how do you forecast whether the region will hit its annual entrance fee goal?

What they are checking: Whether they manage to leading indicators and can forecast early enough to change course.

How have you used CRM data and marketing partnerships to improve lead quality in past roles?

What they are checking: Whether they can work the full funnel with marketing rather than focusing only on closing.
