Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a test-and-learn program you ran. What surprised you, and what did you change because of it?

What they are checking: Whether they genuinely learn from experiments and act on results rather than running tests for show.

This team is flat with clear ownership and small teams. Tell me about something you owned end to end with little support.

What they are checking: Whether they thrive with autonomy and can drive results without a large team behind them.

Tell me about a time you had to convince product or engineering partners to prioritize a growth idea of yours.

What they are checking: Whether they can influence peers with data and a clear case rather than relying on title.

What would you do

Retention for a group of new users dropped sharply in their second month. How would you figure out why?

What they are checking: Whether they can break down a lifecycle problem with data before jumping to a campaign fix.

A referral incentive is driving sign-ups, but you suspect some are fraudulent or low quality. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they protect program quality and economics even when the headline numbers look good.

About the work

Show me how you've used AI beyond basic text generation, like an agent, an automation or a tool you built in Cursor or Copilot.

What they are checking: Whether they have real hands-on curiosity with AI, which the posting treats as a core requirement, not a bonus.

How would you design a referral program for Capital One Shopping, and how would you know if it's growing the business profitably?

What they are checking: Whether they can tie referral design to unit economics, not just sign-up counts.

Walk me through how you'd calculate lifetime value for a shopping user, and which levers you'd pull to raise it.

What they are checking: Whether they can own the financial and analytical side of lifecycle marketing, as the role requires.

How do you separate the effect of a lifecycle message from what a user would have done anyway?

What they are checking: Whether they understand incrementality and holdouts, which keep marketing from taking credit for organic behavior.

What does product-led growth mean to you, and how would it shape what you ask the product team to build?

What they are checking: Whether they see growth as built into the product experience, not only driven by outbound messages.
