Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you found a quality problem that someone on the floor did not want to hear about.

What they are checking: Whether they can raise issues firmly while keeping a working relationship with operations.

Marmon/Keystone talks about optimizing and standardizing every operation. Tell me about a process you standardized and how you got people to follow it.

What they are checking: Whether they can make a standard stick on the floor, not just write it down.

What would you do

As the site-level quality representative in Spring Valley, what would your first two weeks look like?

What they are checking: Whether they learn the floor, the people and the existing records before changing anything.

A customer calls saying the bar stock we shipped is out of tolerance. Walk me through how you handle it.

What they are checking: Whether they contain the problem, verify the facts and find root cause before promising anything.

Shipping wants to release an order today but you have a question about one heat number. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can hold a line on quality under schedule pressure and find a fast way to resolve it.

About the work

How do you verify material certifications and mill test reports against what a customer ordered?

What they are checking: Whether they understand traceability in metals distribution and catch mismatches before product ships.

Which measuring tools have you used to check metal products, and how do you know they are reading correctly?

What they are checking: Whether they understand calibration and gauge control, not just how to hold a caliper.

What root cause method do you reach for first, and why?

What they are checking: Whether they can move past the obvious symptom to the actual process failure.

How do you write a corrective action that actually stops a problem from coming back?

What they are checking: Whether their fixes change the process rather than just retraining one person.

How do you keep quality records organized so they hold up in a customer or ISO audit?

What they are checking: Whether they treat documentation as evidence that has to survive outside scrutiny.
