Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Walk me through how you took a product from discovery through delivery and iteration.

What they are checking: Whether they have owned the full lifecycle the posting describes, not just one phase.

Tell me about a time you said no to a stakeholder on the roadmap.

What they are checking: Whether they can make and defend prioritization calls rather than saying yes to everything.

How do you work with Workday as a partner when their platform roadmap affects your product?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage the partner relationship that the posting calls connective tissue.

What would you do

You see three clients asking for nearly the same custom app. How would you turn that into a Marketplace product?

What they are checking: Whether they can spot reusable patterns and build a business case for packaging them.

A client keeps adding features mid-build on a fixed-fee engagement. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they manage scope firmly while keeping the client relationship strong.

How do you keep technical architects and client stakeholders aligned on what is being built?

What they are checking: Whether they can translate between technical and business sides so neither is surprised.

About the work

What have you built or shipped on Workday Extend, and what are the platform's real limits?

What they are checking: Whether they know Extend well enough to scope products realistically for clients.

How do you write requirements that a Workday Extend developer can build without constant back-and-forth?

What they are checking: Whether they understand data, security and orchestration well enough to write useful specs.

How would you decide whether a product is worth putting on the Workday Marketplace?

What they are checking: Whether they think about demand, support cost and Workday's requirements, not just technical feasibility.

What would you measure to know whether an Extend app is succeeding after launch?

What they are checking: Whether they define real adoption and value metrics instead of counting delivery milestones.
