Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a deviation you investigated on a process line. How did you find the root cause?

What they are checking: Whether they dig to a true cause with evidence and tools, rather than blaming the operator and closing the record.

Give me an example of a continuous improvement project you led and how you measured that it worked.

What they are checking: Whether they can show real improvements with numbers, not just activity or ideas that never got implemented.

Tell me about a time you had to explain an engineering problem to someone without a technical background, like a client or a planner.

What they are checking: Whether they can translate engineering detail into plain impact on schedule, risk and cost for others.

What would you do

A batch is running and an operator calls you about an alarm on a bioreactor. What do you do in the first ten minutes?

What they are checking: Whether they stay calm, protect the batch and people, and follow procedure before trying fixes on the fly.

The Madison site recently expanded with new equipment and staff. How would you help a growing team keep procedures consistent?

What they are checking: Whether they think about training, documentation and standard work when a site is adding people and capacity quickly.

How do you work with operators who have been doing the job for years and push back on your proposed change?

What they are checking: Whether they listen to floor experience and earn buy-in instead of forcing changes from the engineering office.

About the work

This site runs single-use systems from 50 to 4,000 liters. What experience do you have with single-use bioreactors, mixers or assemblies?

What they are checking: Whether they know the real issues with single-use equipment, like leaks, extractables, supply and installation checks.

Walk me through how you would support bringing a new piece of process equipment online in a GMP facility, from specification to release.

What they are checking: Whether they understand the full path of user requirements, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ in a regulated plant.

How do you write a change control so that quality approves it and manufacturing can follow it?

What they are checking: Whether they can document a change clearly enough to protect product quality without stalling the schedule.

What do you check when reviewing a single-use assembly design for a new client process?

What they are checking: Whether they think through connections, sterility, tubing, sensor placement and fit with the existing equipment train.
