Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

Behavioral

Walk me through a video project where you owned everything from concept to final delivery, start to finish. What did that timeline look like?

whether they truly have end-to-end production experience versus having managed pieces of it out to others

Tell me about a time you had to turn around a polished video within a day or two for a leadership message or urgent event. How did you make that happen?

comfort with the rapid-turnaround pace this role demands and how they triage quality versus speed

Tell me about a time you disagreed with a senior leader's direction on a piece of content, maybe on tone or message. What did you do?

how they navigate creative judgment against the wishes of high-visibility stakeholders

Tell me about a piece of content you made for a global audience where you had to think about cultural or regional differences in how it would land.

sensitivity to tone and cultural nuance across a multinational employee base

Technical

What's your process for going from a business strategy document or leadership talking points to a storyboard and shot list?

ability to translate abstract corporate messaging into visual narrative, a core function of this role

Which NLE do you use day to day, Premiere or Final Cut, and where does After Effects come into your workflow?

depth of hands-on editing and motion graphics fluency versus surface familiarity

How do you keep a consistent visual style across dozens of assets, like Teams backgrounds, event branding, and slide templates, when different teams are requesting things at different times?

systems thinking around brand guidelines and template management at scale, not just one-off design skill

How have you used engagement or video performance metrics, like completion rate or views, to actually change what you made next?

whether they close the loop between analytics and creative decisions or just report numbers

Walk me through your portfolio. Which piece is closest to what this role actually needs day to day, and what was your specific hand in it?

verifying individual contribution versus team credit and matching skill to the role's real demands

How would you take a long leadership memo or article and turn it into a short video concept and a couple of social-ready visuals?

the specific skill of repurposing longform content into multiple visual formats efficiently

Situational

Say you're filming an executive message and the exec only has fifteen minutes, the lighting in the room is bad, and there's ambient noise nearby. What do you actually do?

hands-on technical judgment under real-world constraints, not just theoretical knowledge of gear

You've got three requests hit at once: a town hall deck due tomorrow, a leadership video needing edits, and a last-minute event recap. How do you decide what happens first?

prioritization and project management under competing high-visibility deadlines

Describe a time an event or shoot didn't go as planned, equipment failed, a subject canceled, something like that. How did you recover?

resourcefulness and composure when live production hits a snag
