Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you managed a product that came from an outside partner rather than your own engineering team.

What they are checking: Whether they know how to own outcomes when they don't control the roadmap or the code.

Tell me about a product you commercialized. How did you get sales teams to actually sell it?

What they are checking: Whether they know a launch fails if the commercial team doesn't understand or believe in the offering.

What would you do

A partner's application is popular with customers, but their support response has been slow and sites are complaining. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they manage supplier performance firmly while protecting the customer relationship.

How would you work with internal MR product managers who may see a third-party tool as competing with their own feature?

What they are checking: Whether they can handle overlap and politics to build an ecosystem that serves the customer.

How would you decide to retire a third-party application that some customers still use?

What they are checking: Whether they can make hard portfolio calls while handling the customer impact responsibly.

About the work

How would you decide which third-party post-processing or advanced visualization applications belong in the MR and Women's Health portfolio?

What they are checking: Whether they can weigh clinical value, customer demand and business case instead of adding whatever partners offer.

Walk me through how you'd onboard a new third-party application supplier from contract to launch.

What they are checking: Whether they understand the steps across sourcing, regulatory, engineering and commercial that make a partner offering sellable.

How do you think about subscription-based offerings differently from a one-time software sale?

What they are checking: Whether they understand recurring revenue depends on adoption, renewal and ongoing value, not just the first sale.

What do you know about clinical workflows in MR or mammography, and how would a third-party app fit into them?

What they are checking: Whether they can think from the radiologist's or technologist's point of view, not just the business case.

What metrics would you track to know whether the third-party portfolio is healthy?

What they are checking: Whether they would watch revenue, attach rates, renewals and customer issues to make decisions.

What governance would you put in place so third-party offerings stay compliant and supported over their lifecycle?

What they are checking: Whether they think about end-of-life, cybersecurity, regulatory status and contracts, not just launch.
