Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about an automation you built that saved people manual work. How did you make sure it was reliable?

What they are checking: Real experience writing practical automation and testing it before people depend on it.

Tell me about a time you connected two systems that were not built to talk to each other.

What they are checking: Systems integration experience across engineering, quality and enterprise tools.

What would you do

Measurement data today lives in CMM reports, spreadsheets and supplier PDFs. How would you start bringing it together?

What they are checking: A practical plan for connecting scattered data before chasing a big system purchase.

You automate a report and later learn the source data had errors for weeks. What do you do?

What they are checking: Data integrity ownership and honest communication when an error affects decisions.

How do you get metrology technicians to adopt a new tool when they are used to their own spreadsheets?

What they are checking: Change management with hands-on users who must trust the new process.

About the work

What languages or tools would you use to pull data from CMM or inspection software into a database?

What they are checking: Hands-on skill with scripting, file formats and databases for measurement data.

How would you design a dashboard so quality engineers can spot a trend in a critical dimension?

What they are checking: Whether they understand what quality users need to see, such as control limits and drift.

How would you evaluate a new metrology software platform before recommending it?

What they are checking: Structured evaluation of new technology against real needs, integration and cost.

How much do you know about measurement itself, such as GD&T, gauge studies and CMM programming?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the metrology behind the data, not just the software side.

How would you make supplier measurement data usable alongside our internal data?

What they are checking: Thinking about data standards and formats across supplier and internal sources.
