Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

A golfer complains about course conditions. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Customer service from someone who mostly works with equipment.

Tell me about training someone on equipment you knew well and they did not.

What they are checking: Teaching a hands-on skill safely.

The posting offers flexible full-time or part-time schedules. What schedule are you looking for, and how does that fit a course that opens early?

What they are checking: That they read the schedule note and are honest about availability.

How do you keep quality up on repetitive outdoor work through a whole season?

What they are checking: Stamina and standards over months, not one good day.

This pays $14.15 to $19.70 an hour and comes with a background and driver's licence check, with other seasonal park roles posted at the same time at lower rates. Why the golf course specifically?

What they are checking: That they chose this site among the county's openings rather than applying broadly.

What would you do

You would lead other seasonal staff. How do you direct people who were hired at the same time as you?

What they are checking: The step up from seasonal worker to lead, which is what this pays for.

Weekend work depends on staffing and the golf course event schedule. How do you plan a week when the schedule changes?

What they are checking: Flexibility with a real constraint the posting names.

About the work

This is the lead seasonal role at a specific golf course on Riverview Avenue in Waukesha. What does a course need to be ready before the first group tees off?

What they are checking: Practical morning routine knowledge rather than general grounds work.

How do you decide what maintenance to do first when the course opens after a heavy rain?

What they are checking: Judgment about turf and playability under weather pressure.

What safety risks does golf course maintenance carry that someone new would not expect?

What they are checking: Real awareness — mowers, chemicals, working around play.
