Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you advised an executive who did not want to hear your advice. What happened?

What they are checking: Whether they have the courage and credibility to be a real counselor to senior leaders, not just an order taker.

You directly manage two Senior Analysts. How do you develop them while also carrying a heavy executive client load yourself?

What they are checking: Whether they invest in their own team even when their calendar is full of executive work.

Tell me about a time you used data to change a talent decision, like a promotion, retention plan or org design.

What they are checking: Whether they bring evidence to people decisions so their advice carries weight with finance and technology leaders.

Describe a time you partnered with a global HR center of excellence and the program did not fit your local business. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can adapt central programs to local needs without going rogue or breaking the shared approach.

What would you do

You'd support about 230 people across 20 countries, with hubs in the US, Canada, the Netherlands, the UK and India. How would you spend your first ninety days?

What they are checking: Whether they can build a plan to learn a spread-out organization quickly and earn trust with leaders in very different locations.

Engagement scores drop sharply in one country hub while the rest hold steady. How would you dig into it?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose root causes with data and conversations before jumping to a program or blaming the local manager.

A strong performer in the UK tells you they have an outside offer. Their leader asks you to fix it by Friday. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can act fast on retention while keeping pay equity and precedent in mind across the global group.

How do you stay effective when your leaders are spread across time zones from India to Canada?

What they are checking: Whether they have practical habits for working across time zones that keep every hub feeling equally supported.

About the work

An executive wants to restructure a team that sits partly in the Netherlands and partly in India. What do you need to think about before anything is announced?

What they are checking: Whether they know that employment law, works councils and consultation rules differ by country and can change the timeline.

How do you build a people strategy for a function like Finance or Global Technology? Where do you start?

What they are checking: Whether they start from business strategy and capability gaps rather than a menu of HR programs.

How do you run talent reviews and succession planning across leaders who have never worked in the same office?

What they are checking: Whether they can run fair, consistent calibration across countries and avoid favoring the people leaders see most.
