Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Walk me through a knowledge base or documentation set you built or overhauled. How did you decide what went in and how it was organized?

What they are checking: Whether they can design structure for knowledge, not only write individual articles.

Tell me about a training or enablement program you created. How did you know people actually learned something?

What they are checking: Whether they measure learning outcomes rather than attendance or completion alone.

Tell me about a time you led a medium or large process initiative. How did you keep it on track?

What they are checking: Their ability to lead initiatives end to end, since the role goes beyond writing into program work.

What would you do

Our Managed Services engineers are busy and do not love writing documentation. How would you get useful knowledge out of them?

What they are checking: Whether they can capture expert knowledge from people who see it as a low priority.

Two teams document the same process differently and both say theirs is right. What do you do?

What they are checking: How they drive standardization and consistency across teams without simply picking a winner.

You are working remotely with stakeholders across the company. How do you make sure your work stays visible and gets used?

What they are checking: Whether they can drive adoption and collaboration as a remote contributor across teams.

About the work

How do you keep a knowledge base from going stale once it is live?

What they are checking: Whether they understand ownership, review cycles and retirement of content, which is where most KM programs fail.

Take a complex technical procedure and tell me how you would write it so a new support analyst can follow it on their first week.

What they are checking: Their technical writing skill in turning expert steps into clear, testable instructions for beginners.

How would you show business leadership that a knowledge management initiative is worth the investment?

What they are checking: Whether they can tie KM work to measurable results like ticket resolution time or onboarding speed.

What tools have you used for knowledge management and authoring, and what would you look for in choosing one?

What they are checking: Practical familiarity with KM platforms and the judgment to match tools to how people actually work.
