Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you raised utilization on a professional services team without losing people or customer satisfaction.

What they are checking: Whether they have actually balanced billable pressure against retention rather than trading one for the other.

You'd work with Sales, Presales, Managed Services, RevOps, Legal and Contracting, and the S&S Operations team. Describe a time you got that many groups aligned on one delivery change.

What they are checking: Their ability to move many functions they do not control toward one outcome without escalating everything.

Tell me about someone on a team you led who moved up because of how you developed them.

What they are checking: Whether upward mobility is something they actively work on or just a line on a scorecard.

Where have you found real operational efficiency in a services business, and how did you prove it worked?

What they are checking: Whether their efficiency claims rest on measured results rather than reorganizing for its own sake.

What would you do

You'd own financials, utilization, revenue targets, retention and customer satisfaction for the Security Cyber and Physical services teams. Which of those do you look at first on a Monday, and why?

What they are checking: How they rank competing targets, since chasing utilization alone can burn out staff and hurt delivery quality.

A large physical security deployment is running late and over budget, and the customer is unhappy. Walk me through your first week.

What they are checking: How they recover a troubled engagement, protect the relationship and keep the margin from collapsing.

Sales wants to sell a security service your team can't yet deliver well. How do you handle that conversation?

What they are checking: Whether they protect delivery quality while still keeping a good working relationship with the sales organization.

How do you keep cyber and physical security practices working as one services organization instead of two separate teams?

What they are checking: How they build shared goals and cross-selling between practices with different skills and customers.

About the work

Market demand in security shifts quickly. How do you decide which skills to build in your services coworkers over the next year?

What they are checking: Whether they read demand from pipeline and sales signals instead of guessing, and plan training ahead of the need.

How do you set individual revenue targets for consultants and engineers in a way they see as fair?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the levers behind a target, like rate, mix and bench time, and can explain them to staff.

What do you measure to know whether services customers will become repeat CDW customers?

What they are checking: Whether they track leading signs of loyalty, not only a survey score collected after the project closes.
