Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This role prepares quotes and supports orders for dealers and sales representatives in Menomonee Falls, and also owns the digital channel relationship. What inside sales work have you done?

What they are checking: Whether they have done inside sales work like quoting and order support, which this role relies on daily with dealers and representatives.

You'd answer product, configuration and availability questions on commercial kitchen equipment. How would you get to know a technical product range well enough to do that?

What they are checking: Whether they have a real plan for learning a technical product range, since accurate answers on commercial equipment depend on that knowledge.

What would you do

You'd know when to pull in a regional sales manager or the culinary team. How do you decide a question is beyond you?

What they are checking: Whether they recognize the limits of their knowledge and escalate to the right expert, rather than guessing and giving dealers wrong information.

You'd own the flow of accurate product information onto ecommerce dealers' sites — copy, specification sheets, dimensions and utility requirements. Why does a wrong utility requirement on a web page matter?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that wrong utility specs can lead to equipment that cannot be installed, causing costly returns and unhappy customers.

A dealer's support team keeps publishing outdated information. How do you get that changed when they do not work for you?

What they are checking: Whether they can influence dealer teams they do not manage through relationships and clear reasons, since outdated listings hurt everyone involved.

You'd spot larger project opportunities and route them to the regional manager who owns that territory. How would you recognize one?

What they are checking: Whether they notice larger project opportunities in everyday requests and route them correctly, since inside sales often hears about projects first.

The posting says you support dealers and regional managers in every time zone, and anything arriving after hours gets answered the same day or first thing the next. Does that commitment work for you?

What they are checking: Whether they can truly meet the same-day or next-morning response expectation, since dealers across time zones depend on fast, reliable answers.

This is based in Menomonee Falls covering both inside sales and the digital channel. Which half are you stronger at, and what would you want to know about the dealer base before you took it?

What they are checking: Whether they can say honestly which half of the dual role suits them, and ask about the dealer base before committing.

About the work

You'd audit what is published about the equipment on those sites, get errors corrected and confirm the fix. How would you run that audit?

What they are checking: Whether they can run a structured audit of dealer sites and follow through until corrections are confirmed, not just reported once.

You'd pull together a monthly digital channel summary covering content accuracy, open corrections, stocking depth and search and conversion data. What would you want that report to tell someone?

What they are checking: Whether they design reports around decisions and actions leaders should take, rather than collecting numbers nobody uses.

The full job description

As published by Alto-Shaam.

Inside Sales Operations • Prepare quotes for dealers and sales representatives and turn them around quickly. • Support order entry, order status, lead times, and ship-date communication. • Answer product, configuration, and availability questions, and pull in a Regional Sales Manager or our culinary team when a question needs deeper expertise. • Support dealers and Regional Sales Managers in every time zone. Anything that arrives after hours gets answered the same day or first thing the next morning. • Spot larger project opportunities and route them to the Regional Sales Manager who owns that territory. Ecommerce and Digital Channel Support • Be the named Alto-Shaam contact for the ecommerce dealers who run their own in-house support teams. • Own the flow of accurate product information onto their sites: product page copy, specification sheets, dimensions and utility requirements, images, and comparison data. You will coordinate these packages with our Marketing team. • Audit what is published about our equipment on those sites, find what is out of date or wrong, get it corrected, and confirm the fix. • Answer the product and application questions their support teams and customers raise. • Pull the monthly digital channel summary together: content accuracy, open corrections, stocking depth, and whatever search and conversion data our partners share. Pricing Policy Compliance • Review authorized reseller sites on a regular schedule to check how our equipment is priced and displayed against Alto-Shaam policy. Document what you find carefully: product, page, screenshot, date, and observation. • Send our standard first notice when something needs correcting, and escalate anything beyond that to your manager. This role works inside a defined framework rather than negotiating outcomes, and we will train you on exactly where the lines are. • Maintain the compliance log and the monthly summary, and help us automate the parts of this that should not be done by hand. Project and Program Coordination • Keep trackers, action lists, owners, and due dates current for sales programs. • Build meeting agendas, capture decisions, and chase follow-ups to closure. • Help keep our CRM data clean, and support trade show lead capture and routing. For a candidate to be successful as a Inside Sales and Digital Channel Coordinator they must have: • Two or more years in inside sales, sales operations, customer service, ecommerce, or account coordination. An associate or bachelor’s degree counts in place of experience. • Careful, clear writing. A meaningful part of this job leaves the building in writing, so we will ask you for a short writing sample. • Real comfort with spreadsheets. Lookups, pivot tables, cleaning up messy data, and the instinct to double-check a number before you send it. • Digital fluency. You move around ecommerce sites and product pages easily and you are curious about how people search for and buy things online. • Process discipline. You can follow a documented process consistently, and you speak up when it needs improving. • Composure. You will sometimes talk with people more senior and more assertive than you are. We need someone who can say “let me bring that to my manager” and mean it. • Curiosity about AI and automation. A lot of the monitoring and reporting in this role should get faster every quarter. We want someone who wants to be the reason it does. For more information about our benefits, job duties, and company values, go to https://www.alto-shaam.com/en
