What they are checking: Honesty about safety shortcuts, since the site safety program is the first duty listed for this job.

Tell me about a repair you had to troubleshoot without clear instructions. How did you figure out the cause?

You have three preventive maintenance work orders due today and the MAC Coordinator sends you an urgent move request. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they keep PM schedules on track while still responding to the person who directs their daily requests.

A client wants a conference room set up for an event in an hour, and the layout they sent does not fit the room. What do you do?

When you install the electrical devices and cabling inside systems furniture, what do you check before you call a station ready for someone to plug in?

What they are checking: Whether they treat powered furniture as electrical work with real shock and fire risk, not just furniture.

How do you lift and move heavy furniture components or load a truck without hurting yourself or damaging the building?

What they are checking: Practical knowledge of lifting, dollies and protecting walls and floors, which prevents injuries and damage claims.

What does a basic ergonomic evaluation of someone's workstation look like when you do it?

What they are checking: Whether they understand chair, keyboard and monitor height well enough to actually help an employee's comfort.

How do you close out a work order so the next person or your supervisor knows exactly what was done?

What they are checking: Whether their documentation is clear enough to support scheduling, billing and compliance reporting.

Describe how you would touch up a scuffed wall and replace a few damaged carpet tiles in an occupied office.

What they are checking: Finish-work skill plus awareness of working cleanly and quietly around people who are trying to work.
