Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

How has your auto or diesel experience helped you with forklifts and warehouse equipment?

What they are checking: Whether they can apply broader mechanical knowledge to lifts, wrappers and other warehouse machines.

Tell me about a time you found a safety problem with a machine that someone wanted to keep running.

What they are checking: Whether they will take unsafe equipment out of service even when there is pressure to keep it moving.

What would you do

It is late in the shift and three trucks are down, and operations wants them all back now. How do you decide the order?

What they are checking: How they prioritize by safety and business impact and communicate honestly about timing.

An operator keeps damaging the same forklift. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they report misuse and help fix the root cause instead of just repairing the same damage repeatedly.

This is a 3 PM to 11:30 PM shift, Sunday through Thursday. How does that schedule fit your life?

What they are checking: Whether they can commit to the shift long term, since reliability matters on a smaller night crew.

About the work

Which brands have you worked on, like Crown stock pickers and Toyota forklifts? Walk me through a repair you are proud of.

What they are checking: Real hands-on experience with the specific equipment named in the posting.

A Crown stock picker will not lift but drives fine. How would you troubleshoot it?

What they are checking: A logical method for hydraulic and electrical faults instead of swapping parts until something works.

Walk me through your lockout / tagout steps before working on a conveyor.

What they are checking: Whether they follow LOTO every time, since skipping it can kill or maim someone.

What have you done with conveyor systems, Lantech wrappers or industrial robots?

What they are checking: Their range beyond forklifts, since this shop covers conveyors, wrappers and robotics too.

How do you use a CMMS to open work orders and check equipment history?

What they are checking: Whether they use maintenance records to spot repeat failures and keep the history accurate.

How do you keep track of parts inventory so you are not stuck waiting on a common part?

What they are checking: Organization with parts and records, which keeps equipment running in a busy branch.
