About your past

Tell me about a time you turned something complicated into instructions other people could follow.

Tell me about a project where you had to learn a technical subject you knew little about.

What they are checking: Whether they can get up to speed on manufacturing processes and equipment they have not seen before.

What would you do

How would you interview a senior engineer to capture what they know about a piece of equipment?

What they are checking: Whether they can draw out tacit knowledge by asking good follow-up questions, not just collecting existing documents.

A subject matter expert keeps postponing your meetings. How do you get what you need?

What they are checking: Whether they can work politely but persistently with busy experts who do not report to them.

You find two documents that describe the same procedure differently. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they think about how users search and what makes knowledge accessible, not just stored.

What do you know about learning design, and how would you make a training module engaging for plant engineers?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that adults learn by doing and that training must fit real work.

How would you know if the knowledge resources you built were being used and helping?

What they are checking: Whether they think about measuring impact instead of assuming that publishing is the finish line.

What tools have you used to create documents, diagrams or training content?

What they are checking: How quickly they can produce usable materials during a short summer internship.
