About your past

What they are checking: Whether they look at uptime, backlog, preventive maintenance compliance and the team before deciding what to change.

The main sorter goes down during peak season and operations is losing volume every minute. Walk me through your response.

An operations leader says your team is too slow to respond to breakdowns. How do you handle that feedback?

What they are checking: Whether they listen, check the data and build a better partnership instead of getting defensive.

About the work

How do you balance preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance in a building that runs around the clock?

What they are checking: Whether they understand maintenance strategy and can schedule work without hurting operations during peak.

How do you use a CMMS to manage work orders, spare parts and maintenance history?

What they are checking: Whether they rely on good data and systems to plan work and control parts inventory and cost.

What safety programs are most important for a maintenance team, and how do you make sure they are followed every time?

What they are checking: Whether lockout tagout, arc flash and confined space rules are non-negotiable habits on their team.

How do you manage facility systems like HVAC, fire protection, roofing and dock equipment along with production equipment?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage the whole facility, not just the conveyors, and plan capital work responsibly.

How do you build a maintenance budget and make the case for capital projects?
