Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

How do you stay alert and focused on the same lane day after day?

What they are checking: Whether they have real habits against fatigue and boredom, which are the main risks on repeat long lanes.

Tell me about a time a delivery went wrong at a customer site. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they stay professional and solve problems when facilities are not ready, since drivers represent the company.

What does your driving record look like over the last few years, and is there anything you'd want to explain?

What they are checking: Whether they are honest about their history, which matters for insurance and for trust going forward.

What would you do

The schedule lets you shift start times to avoid Chicago traffic. How would you plan your day to make that lane work and still get home daily?

What they are checking: Whether they think ahead about hours of service and traffic, using the flexibility responsibly rather than casually.

You're halfway to Indianapolis and your trailer starts handling oddly. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they pull over and check rather than push on to finish the run, which protects the truck and the public.

Winter on I-94 and I-65 can be rough. How do you decide when it's not safe to keep driving?

What they are checking: Whether they will make a cautious call in bad weather even when the load is expected on time.

About the work

This route is mostly a dedicated lane from Milwaukee to Indianapolis with walking floor trailers. What experience do you have with walking floors?

What they are checking: Whether they know how to run and unload a walking floor trailer, which takes specific skill and care.

Walk me through unloading a walking floor trailer safely at a facility.

What they are checking: Whether they know the steps that prevent stuck loads, damaged floors and injuries around the moving trailer bed.

Tell me about your experience with a manual transmission on a loaded tractor, especially through heavy traffic.

What they are checking: Whether they can truly run manual equipment, which the posting says is a firm requirement for this role.

How do you manage your hours of service and logs on a run this length so you're never pushing the limit?

What they are checking: Whether they plan for compliance up front instead of scrambling near the end of their legal driving time.
