What they are checking: Whether they can show real outcomes like reduced downtime rather than general claims.

Tell me about a safety concern raised by a technician that you acted on.

What they are checking: Whether they take safety input from the floor seriously and build a culture where people speak up.

How do you develop leaders under you, like maintenance supervisors and engineering managers?

What they are checking: Whether they invest in building the next layer of leadership instead of handling everything themselves.

What would you do

You'd oversee calibration, maintenance, reliability engineering, system owners and shutdown planning. How would you get a clear picture of asset health in your first months?

What they are checking: Whether they rely on data like failure history and backlog rather than opinions to judge the plant.

A critical piece of equipment fails a calibration check and product may be affected. What happens next?

What they are checking: Whether they understand impact assessment and quality investigation when calibration fails in GMP.

How do you balance the maintenance budget against asset lifecycle needs when money is tight?

What they are checking: Whether they can prioritize spend by risk and explain tradeoffs to site leadership.

Production wants equipment back early from a shutdown, but not all work is done. How do you decide?

What they are checking: Whether they weigh production pressure against reliability and compliance risk with clear reasoning.

About the work

How do you shift a maintenance team from reactive work toward planned and predictive maintenance?

What they are checking: Whether they know practical reliability tools and how to change habits on the floor.

Walk me through how you'd plan a major shutdown for fractionation and bulk production areas.

What they are checking: Whether they understand scope control, scheduling and requalification in a regulated plant shutdown.
