Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a large bioprocessing deal you won against a strong competitor. What made the difference?

What they are checking: Whether they sell on technical value and long-term partnership rather than only on price.

How do you lead sales reps and specialists who you may not directly manage, while working remotely across a large territory?

What they are checking: Whether they can influence and coordinate a matrix team through clarity and trust, not authority.

Tell me about a time you built a forecast and pipeline that leadership could rely on.

What they are checking: Whether their forecasting is disciplined and honest, which matters in a business with long and lumpy sales cycles.

Describe how you have coached a rep through a complex technical sale they were not ready to run alone.

What they are checking: Whether they develop people by preparing them and debriefing after, rather than taking over the deal.

What would you do

You would lead Cytiva's mammalian cell culture commercial effort across the Central and Southeast US. How would you size up the territory in your first quarter?

What they are checking: Whether they can map key accounts, pipeline and team strengths before setting a plan for growth.

A biopharma customer is moving a molecule from clinical to commercial scale. How would you position cell culture media and single-use products at that moment?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that change control makes the clinical-to-commercial window the moment that locks in years of supply.

A key customer has a supply concern about lot-to-lot consistency in a media product. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they take quality issues seriously, bring in technical and quality teams fast, and protect the relationship.

How would you work with Cytiva's product management and applications scientists to bring customer feedback back into the business?

What they are checking: Whether they see themselves as a link between the field and the product teams, not just a seller.

The role requires travel for customer engagement and team leadership. How do you decide where your time in the field makes the biggest difference?

What they are checking: Whether they focus travel on strategic accounts and coaching moments rather than spreading themselves thin.

About the work

Explain how media, feeds and process choices affect titer and product quality in a monoclonal antibody process.

What they are checking: Whether they have enough upstream bioprocess depth to earn credibility with process development scientists.

What trends in cell and gene therapy and biologics manufacturing do you think will shape demand for cell culture products over the next few years?

What they are checking: Whether they follow the market closely enough to steer customers and their own team toward where growth is coming.
