What's your experience with computer maintenance management systems, and how have you used one to actually improve imaging service operations rather than just log tickets?

Walk me through the difference in supporting fixed imaging equipment like MRI or CT versus portable imaging. What changes in your service approach?

genuine hands-on technical range across the imaging modalities this role covers

Situational

Walk me through how you'd handle an urgent service event on a CT scanner that's down during a busy clinical day. What's your first call and how do you keep the department moving?

whether the candidate has a real triage process for downtime that balances patient safety, throughput, and vendor coordination

An external service vendor keeps missing response time standards on a fixed imaging system. How do you handle that conversation and what do you actually change?

whether the candidate manages vendor accountability with substance, not just complaints

You're managing operating and capital budgets under someone else's final approval. Tell me about a time you had to control expenditures within an approved budget when something unplanned came up.

fiscal discipline and how the candidate operates within delegated authority

You're rounding with a local site leader who tells you the imaging service level feels worse lately, even though your metrics look fine. What do you do next?

ability to reconcile data with frontline perception and adjust rather than defend the numbers

This role covers multiple facility sites in a hybrid schedule. How do you decide where your time and attention go in a given week when priorities compete?
