About your past

What they are checking: Whether they can work closely with technical teams and translate between business goals and product reality.

Tell me about a time you managed several projects with competing deadlines.

What they are checking: Whether they have a working method for juggling priorities, which the role names as a core need.

Tell me about a time you took ownership of something that wasn't strictly your job.

What would you do

An operator panel loves your prototype, but it takes an extra step in the kitchen. Do you move forward?

You lead a cross-functional team on a project that is running late and over budget. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they own timing and budget, and know how to reset a plan honestly with stakeholders.

Sales says a big chain account wants a custom version of your product. How do you think about that request?

What they are checking: Whether they weigh the volume of one large customer against complexity and cost for the rest of the business.

About the work

How is innovating for Away From Home different from innovating for the grocery shelf?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that operators care about labor, yield, consistency and pack size, not just consumer appeal.

Walk me through how you would research an opportunity for a new foodservice product for one of our flagship brands.

What they are checking: Whether they know how to read the competitive landscape and operator needs before building a concept.

How would you tell whether a new AFH product is succeeding after launch?

What they are checking: Whether they know foodservice success measures like distributor pickup, operator trial and menu adoption.

How do you work with sales and finance to set a price for a new foodservice product?

What they are checking: Whether they understand pricing through the distributor and operator chain and how margin is protected.
