Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you used workforce data to change a leader's mind about a people decision.

What they are checking: Whether they are the data-driven HR person the role describes, able to persuade with numbers.

You work with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence who all have their own priorities. How do you keep a project moving?

What they are checking: Whether they can coordinate across HR groups without authority and still deliver on time.

Tell me about a time you turned a broad HR strategy into a concrete plan with dates and owners.

What they are checking: Whether they enjoy and are good at execution, which the posting names as the heart of the role.

What would you do

A plant leader says their top performer is not ready for promotion, but the data suggests otherwise. How would you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can challenge a business leader respectfully while keeping the decision with the right owner.

Supply chain and procurement have very different workforces, from plant floors to buying teams. How does that change how you plan talent?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that talent strategy for hourly and salaried groups needs different approaches.

Your team reports to someone who also covers labor relations. How might that shape the people work you do?

What they are checking: Whether they are aware of union environments and how talent programs must fit labor agreements.

About the work

Walk me through how you would support a talent review for a supply chain leadership team.

What they are checking: Whether they know the mechanics of talent reviews, from preparing data to capturing decisions and follow-ups.

How do you know whether a succession plan is real or just names in boxes?

What they are checking: Whether they can test succession readiness with development actions and evidence, not only a chart.

How would you identify a critical talent gap in a function like procurement?

What they are checking: Whether they can connect business strategy to skills needed and spot where the bench is thin.

How do you measure whether a leadership development program actually worked?

What they are checking: Whether they look past attendance and satisfaction to promotion rates, retention and performance.
