Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a dashboard or report you built that people used to make decisions.

What they are checking: Whether they build reporting with the user in mind rather than just showing all the data available.

Tell me about a time you wrote documentation or training material. How did you know it worked?

What they are checking: Whether they can make processes clear enough that others can follow them without asking for help.

Tell me about a time you had to deliver accurate data on a tight weekly deadline.

What they are checking: Whether they are reliable on recurring routines where late or wrong data affects planning decisions.

What would you do

A demand planner says their report is showing the wrong numbers this morning. How do you troubleshoot it?

What they are checking: Whether they can trace a data issue methodically through source, logic and timing under time pressure.

Planners aren't adopting a new tool the team released. What would you do?

What they are checking: Whether they look for the real reason behind low adoption and fix it with training or design changes.

How do you work with IT when you need a change but they have a long backlog?

What they are checking: Whether they can write a clear business requirement and make the case for priority.

About the work

How do you measure forecast accuracy and bias, and why do you need both?

What they are checking: Whether they know accuracy can look fine while a steady bias quietly builds too much or too little inventory.

What does touchless or autonomous forecasting mean to you, and what would make you trust it?

What they are checking: Whether they understand when a statistical forecast can run without planner edits and how to monitor it.

Forecast accuracy dropped for one category last month. Walk me through how you'd find the root cause.

What they are checking: Whether they can separate data quality gaps, promotions, new items and true demand shifts.

How would you help test a system enhancement before it is released to planners?

What they are checking: Whether they know how to write test cases that reflect real planner work, not only the happy path.
