Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you kept a busy clinic area clean, stocked and organized while patients kept coming in.

What they are checking: Whether they take ownership of the room turnover and supply work that keeps an urgent care moving safely.

This is a 0.6 position in Kenosha. How does that schedule fit your life, and how do you handle being asked to pick up extra shifts?

What they are checking: Whether they can reliably commit to a part-time schedule that includes urgent care evening and weekend hours.

Tell me about a time you made a mistake on a patient task. What did you do about it?

What they are checking: Whether they report errors promptly and honestly, which keeps kids safe and builds trust with nurses.

What would you do

A parent in the waiting room is upset that they have waited over an hour with a feverish child. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they can stay calm, show empathy and give honest updates without making promises they cannot keep.

While rooming a patient, you notice the child's breathing looks labored and they seem much sicker than the triage note suggests. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they will speak up right away when something looks wrong, which can matter more than any task on their list.

How would you help a child who is terrified of getting a throat swab or a strep test?

What they are checking: Whether they can use distraction and calm explanation to get a procedure done without traumatizing the child.

A nurse asks you to do something you are not trained or certified to do because the clinic is slammed. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they can say no respectfully and offer help that is within scope when there is pressure to cut corners.

About the work

As a CNA in an urgent care for kids, what tasks fall inside your scope of practice, and what would you hand off to a nurse or provider?

What they are checking: Whether they know the limits of the CNA role and will not drift into tasks they are not allowed to perform.

How do you get accurate vital signs on a scared toddler who will not sit still?

What they are checking: Whether they have practical skills with small children, since pediatric vitals are often the first thing that goes wrong.

How do you protect a family's privacy in a small, busy clinic where people can overhear?

What they are checking: Whether they understand confidentiality as daily habits, not just a policy they signed.
